Anyone who has ever ordered flowers on Valentine’s Day, knows that the prices always go up, especially the prices of red roses.  If you would like to surprise your loved one with beautiful flowers on Valentine’s Day, without breaking your budget, ProFlowers and your local grocery store are excellent options.

ProFlowers is known for its low prices and fast delivery.  Whenever I need to send someone at a distance flowers, whether it is for a birthday or a holiday, I use ProFlowers, because I can usually find the best prices available on its website.  Additionally, if you run a Google search on the internet using the keywords “ProFlowers Online Coupons,” you can typically find online coupon codes for either a free vase, free shipping, or anywhere from 10% to 15% off your purchase.  Right now ProFlowers is running a special on 18 Long Stemmed Red Roses with a free Ruby vase for only $49.99!  Now that is an excellent deal, especially around Valentine’s Day.

However, if you would like to save even more money, and you are going to see your loved one in person, you should try your local grocery store first.  The grocery stores in my area usually have specials on a dozen roses in the price range of $9.99 to $19.99 without a vase, and typically $29.99 with a vase.  That is also an excellent deal.  I prefer to order from Shoprite, because its floral department can make a beautiful arrangement at your request, with special colors, flowers, and a vase for around $35.00!  So not only can you deliver the flowers to your loved one in person, you can also tell your loved one that you helped designed the arrangement too; how wonderful is that!

As you can see, if you search the internet for online coupon codes, or call your local grocery store, you should be able to surprise your loved one this Valentine’s Day with a beautiful arrangement of red roses, or flowers at an affordable price.

I am sure everyone has heard that red roses signify true love and passion, which is why red roses are in high demand during Valentine’s Day; but what do the other colors of roses mean? Whether you are in a new relationship and not ready to give red roses, or you simply want to congratulate your friend for a job well done, I am going to help you decode the color of roses, so you don’t send mixed signals to the recipient.

Red Roses mean love, passion, true love, deep love and everlasting love. Red Roses are generally reserved for your partner.

Dark Pink Roses also represent love, but a simple and light hearted love, possibly a new love or relationship.

Black Roses are a symbol of death and usually aren’t happily received. However, sometimes black roses can represent a new beginning.

Yellow Roses represent friendship and freedom. These are great flowers to give to your friends.

Orange and Peach Roses are given to congratulate someone for a job well done, such as a graduation or a promotion. Orange roses are also usually used in flower arrangements for fall weddings, and peach roses are also a nice way to express sympathy.

Autumn Flowers. My sister was married in autumn and she had beautiful flowers in an array of rich autumn colors.  The most striking feature of autumn flowers are the rich reds, oranges and bright yellows that are available.  Flowers that are available during autumn include: Carnations, China and Pepper Berries, Chrysanthemums, Gerbera Daisies, Juniper, Lilies, Orchids and Sunflowers.

Additionally, roses are available throughout all of the seasons in a variety of colors.  The rose is my favorite flower because of its beauty and variety.  Roses can make any arrangement look elegant and beautiful.
